Welcome - Alan D. Thompson

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "Treat a man as he is, and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he could be, and he will become what he should be."51kYIzOpoiLAn incredibly synchronistic encounter led me to this book. Welcome is a succinct repository of timeless knowledge pulled from different fields. It is practical and provides a guide map for deeper reflection. Instead of giving answers, Welcome invites you to dive inward (luckily with probing questions!), as we each have the answers inside of us."Everyone has their own voice and their own inspiration. It can be tempting to start listening to someone else's frequency: bosses, internet forums, teachers, the media. But if you are listening to their expression in place of your own expression, something is missing, and your performance won't be at its peak. When you listen to your own music, you know it. It's inspiring, freeing and thrilling."Above and beyond all that, what spoke to me most was the humanness behind his words. They are kind, understanding, encouraging, and really spoke to a part of me that was hibernating. It reminds me of how Wayne Dyer always talked about not letting the music die inside of us.I hope that Alan's personal touch and stories sit with you and inspire you - don't let your music die inside! (I am currently reading Best (same author), and will post about this when i am done.)
