What Rumi and Kahlil Gibran Would Tell Us About Love

I first stumbled upon Kahlil Gibran in high school, and fell in love with his poetry immediately. Rumi appeared in my life first through Wayne Dyer, who quotes him quite a bit. In the documentary by Tom Shadyac called "I Am", Coleman Barks refers to Rumi extensively. It still didn't really call to me until last summer, i would say, when the mysticism of it finally sunk its teeth and never let go. Poetry is interesting like that. It's almost unrecognizable from when you first read it, to when it develops some personal meaning/understanding. From that point on, it's never the same.Sharing a Huffington Post article by Jesica L.
